How to take a screen shot on a Mac
Cmd + Shift + 3
Your Mac should make a shutter sound - like a camera taking a picture type sound.
If you switched your Cmd key with your Ctrl key like me, then it would be:
Ctrl + Shift + 3
Hope this helps!

You can also grab a portion of the screen with Cmd+Shift+4 ... that'll get you a crosshairs cursor ... just click and drag to select the area you want to capture. If you want to get an entire window, hit the space bar after you press Cmd+Shift+4 ... the cursor will change to a camera, and will darken the window that's currently selected. Click on the window to get a capture from it.
Thanks for the info Jeremy. I like the crosshair idea because it gives you greater control over what you screen grab - don't remember being able to do that on a PC.
On a PC you had to paste the screen capture into Photoshop and then crop out what you wanted to keep.
This new method on the Mac is a lot simpler.
